We did this last summer and it tastes so, so good on a hot day. Be careful though as it is very refreshing, but it can pack a punch…

How to make a Vodka Watermelon

You will need: some vodka, a watermelon, a knife and a funnel.

1- Firstly, find the most stable way to stand the watermelon on the counter. You can sit it in a bowl if it is rolling around everywhere.

2 – Make a small hole in the top of the watermelon and then push the funnel down into the watermelon, see the photo above (you want a tight fit here so the vodka doesn’t spill out around the bottom of the funnel).

3 – Fill the funnel with vodka and place the watermelon somewhere cool, ideally the refrigerator, whilst the vodka is slowly absorbed into the watermelon. It takes a while for the vodka to be absorbed, it can take 2-3 days depending how big the watermelon is and how much vodka you want to add.

4 – When it’s ready – simply cut the watermelon into wedges and serve. It’s amazing on a hot day and it’s the perfect accompaniment for barbecues.

5 – Enjoy!
